Rockett ANIMAL vs Wampler SUPER PLEXTORTION
Once again and at the risk of criticism for provoking controversy, I have pitted two similar pedals against each other – Wamplers’s Super Plextortion and Rockett’s Animal. Both have a very similar sonic foundation but they’re quite different in terms of their feature sets.
Although the Wampler exceeds the Rockett in terms of tonal range and control (3 band EQ plus 3 types of gain intensity), the Animal is also a great sounding pedal albeit with less control and therefore less fuss. I think there’s room on the market for both but I’m interested to hear your thoughts as well.
